Established in 1837 in Massachusetts, Lamson is proud to be the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the United States. Our name is synonymous with American artistry and carries a distinguished history – in 1869, newly-elected US President Ulysses S. Grant was presented with a 62-piece Lamson dinner set at the White House, with pieces of this extraordinary gift remaining on display at the Smithsonian Institution today.

Lamson's talented artisans still handcraft each piece in western Massachusetts, offering an extensive selection of elegantly functional products, including laser-cut and forged cutlery, kitchen tools, and trade tools. Despite facing major world events, difficult financial times, and even a natural disaster that forced us to relocate from our original factory, our spirit and commitment to American craftsmanship have never diminished.

The Vintage Series, for example, features an updated ergonomically friendly hand-finished stabilized Walnut handle with a traditional, timeless look and feel, and a sleek integrated bolster that allows for a traditional or pinch-grip.

Signature craftsmanship is at the heart of every Lamson product. Each knife is meticulously crafted to perfection using state-of-the-art technology coupled with hand finishing, as well as proprietary polishing and sharpening processes. Our blades are formed from proprietary high-carbon stainless steel (Grade 420HC-LAM), precision laser-cut, and tempered to a hardness of 58 on the Rockwell scale, resulting in a hard, wickedly sharp blade that retains an edge for longer and is highly corrosion resistant and elastic.

The superior performance of Lamson knives is further enhanced by their full tang blades with double brass riveted handles, ensuring ideal balance and weight. The curved and recessed integrated bolster provides a seamless transition from handle to blade, offering comfortable thumb and finger support for better control and safety.
