Lamson, the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the United States, was established in Massachusetts in 1837. Our name is synonymous with American artistry and carries a distinguished history - in 1869, newly-elected US President Ulysses S. Grant was presented a 62-piece Lamson dinner set at the White House, and pieces of this extraordinary gift remain on display at the Smithsonian Institution.

Today, our talented artisans in western Massachusetts still handcraft each piece from an extensive selection of elegantly functional products, including laser-cut and forged cutlery, kitchen tools, and trade tools. Despite facing major world events, difficult financial times, and even a natural disaster that forced us to relocate from our original factory, our spirit and commitment to American craftsmanship have never diminished.

Our signature craftsmanship is meticulously executed, with each knife finished to perfection using state-of-the-art technology coupled with hand finishing, as well as proprietary polishing and sharpening processes. Our blades are formed from proprietary high-carbon stainless steel (Grade 420HC-LAM) and are precision laser-cut and tempered to a hardness of 58 on the Rockwell scale, resulting in a hard, wickedly sharp blade that retains an edge for longer and is highly corrosion-resistant and elastic.

The superior performance of our knives is achieved through full-tang blades with double brass riveted handles, ensuring ideal balance and weight. The curved and recessed integrated bolster provides a seamless transition from handle to blade, resulting in comfortable thumb and finger support for better control and safety.
