Established in Massachusetts in 1837, Lamson takes pride in being the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the United States. Our name is synonymous with American artistry and carries a distinguished history – in 1869, newly-elected US President Ulysses S. Grant was presented a 62-piece Lamson dinner set at the White House, and pieces of this extraordinary gift remain on display at the Smithsonian Institution.
Lamson's talented artisans still handcraft each piece in western Massachusetts, offering an extensive selection of elegantly functional products, including laser-cut and forged cutlery, kitchen tools, and trade tools. Over the years, the company has survived major world events, difficult financial times, and even a natural disaster that forced a relocation from the original factory. Through it all, Lamson's spirit and commitment to American craftsmanship have not diminished, but rather inspired a renewed celebration of its heritage – the superior quality, service, and passion for excellence that would make its founders proud.
With designs as diverse as the professional and household needs it serves, Lamson products are at once high-performing and stylish, traditional and innovative. As the company moves toward a third century in business, its mission remains steadfast: to aim for nothing short of American-made perfection. Experience the products handcrafted with care and deep-rooted in tradition: experience Lamson.
Introducing "The Little B," the smaller sibling of the "Big Boy" featured on Bon Appetit's It's Alive. This great knife is your answer to it all – "Chop, cut, crush, whatever!" The Little B features a 6-inch blade (the Big Boy has an 8-inch blade), a Walnut handle, and a Santoku full-tang blade that runs the length of the handle. The blade is made of tempered high-carbon stainless steel, flat-ground for precision, and hand-sharpened and finished for a razor-sharp edge.
The shaped and contoured durable Walnut handle is ergonomically designed for safe and comfortable use, no matter how you hold the knife, and features sturdy brass rivet construction. It is recommended to hand-wash the cleaver with warm soapy water, as the dishwasher is not recommended. The wood handle needs periodic application of mineral oil to prevent drying out.
Lamson Products, a Massachusetts company since 1837, proudly manufactures The Little B and all its other high-quality products.
