Lamson, the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the United States, was established in Massachusetts in 1837. Our name is synonymous with American artistry and carries a distinguished history. In 1869, newly-elected US President Ulysses S. Grant was presented a 62-piece Lamson dinner set at the White House, and pieces of this extraordinary gift remain on display at the Smithsonian Institution.

Today, our talented artisans still handcraft each piece in western Massachusetts, offering an extensive selection of elegantly functional products, including laser-cut and forged cutlery, kitchen tools, and trade tools. Over the years, we have survived major world events, difficult financial times, and even a natural disaster that forced us to relocate from our original factory. One of our standout products is the 6" Vintage cleaver, an amazingly strong and versatile tool that can cut, slice, chop, and trim with ease. The Vintage Series features an updated, ergonomically friendly hand-finished stabilized Walnut handle that has a traditional, timeless look and feel. The sleek integrated bolster allows for a traditional or pinch-grip, providing comfortable thumb and finger support for better control and safety.

Our signature craftsmanship is evident in the meticulous attention to detail that goes into each of our knives. Utilizing state-of-the-art technology coupled with hand finishing, as well as proprietary polishing and sharpening processes, we ensure that every knife is finished to perfection.

Our blades are formed from proprietary high-carbon stainless steel (Grade 420HC-LAM), ensuring they are hard, wickedly sharp, and highly corrosion resistant. The blades are precision laser-cut and tempered to a hardness of 58 on the Rockwell scale, making them both durable and elastic.

The superior performance of Lamson knives is further enhanced by their design. Full tang blades with double brass riveted handles ensure ideal balance and weight, while the curved and recessed integrated bolster provides a seamless transition from handle to blade.
